I grew up in South Jersey, right above the Pine Barrens … home of many things but the definitive birthplace of The Jersey Devil. There are a few variations on his story but the gist is that he was the thirteenth child of Mrs. Leeds who cursed him at his birth. He became the scapegoat of basically anything and everything that went wrong in those ye olde Jersey colonial days.

And thanks to New Jersey folklore week in my elementary school my wee, over imaginative lil mind was absolutely terrified of him.

But now we are buds.

** NOTE: there are three of these and because I am a meat and sticks creature and not a machine they are not EXACTLY alike. There are the slightest of differences that maybe only I can see**
